Israel Freedom Convoy 2022 -We are the Media!
Spread the word, because we're the only ones who will.
Israel has woken up, and it’s about time! Yesterday was the kickoff for the Freedom Convoy 2022, Israel Edition and I’m going to try to describe the day, together with photos and video. Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey. You could drive North to South in about 6 hours, and Jerusalem is in the middle.
Thousands of us woke up early, went out to decorate our cars, met up with others all along the route, and headed towards Jerusalem, our holy capital city to make our desire for freedom from overreaching govt known. I decided to take a bus so I’d have more flexibility to move around, and together with my friend Shelli, arrived at the Knesset at about 11 AM. The mood outside was festive and excited as we waited for the convoys to begin arriving. By then, we knew they were coming, and with a strength of numbers that I hadn’t even dared to hope for. 40 different convoys made up of thousands, and possibly tens of thousands of trucks, motorcycles, and cars were snaking their way through our little country to meet us at the Knesset.
Waiting at the Knesset, watching these images come in on our phones was beyond exciting. I’m a huge fan of the movie Newsies. If you’ve never seen it, it’s about a group of newsboys in the late 1800s who decide to strike when the news moguls of the time raised their prices for the Newsies. They spread the word throughout New York and set a day for a rally with other sweatshop kids. As the Newsies sat there, dejected that nobody showed up, waves of people started showing up from all directions.
Ok, so it wasn’t exactly like that, but the feeling of knowing that we have so many fellow countrymen out there who view the world, the situation, and the ideal of freedom in the same way as I do, was comforting and very very exciting.
Back to the Knesset - the bikers came in first, with noise, flags, strength, and excitement.
Once the convoys of cars made their way into Jerusalem, police blockaded roads all around the city, which effectively split up the convoy, but set off rallies everywhere. Eventually, all those who had made it to the Knesset on foot began walking back up towards the intersections that were blocked off, which turned into a parade of people gathering more people as we walked through the city. The mood was light, happy, excited that so many people came, and overall very festive and peaceful.
What happens here on out is unknown. The people I met yesterday were good, kind people, and all were adamant that the restrictions are over. There are those who insist on setting up camp outside the Knesset until all restrictions are lifted. There are many who are planning to come and go over the coming weeks and more if necessary, while others are planning more convoys. Dozens of tents have been set up, including food, drink, and first aid, and there’s a YouTube channel set up to live stream from the site and to feature different speakers and activists.
This is just the beginning. As we’ve seen from the heroic and beloved Canadian Truckers, courage and desire for freedom are contagious. I spoke to so many people and made so many new friends over the course of the day. I met people from all over the country, of all political and religious affiliations. I met people who have been attending protests weekly, and people who have never attended one in their life, but were inspired by what we’re seeing out of Canada. However, courage can’t spread if others don’t know about it, and the corporate media has obviously almost completely ignored all mentions of the convoy. Talk to people! Tell them about the movement for freedom, tell them they’re not alone and they’re not crazy. I showed some of these pictures to our local pizza shop owner and she had both not heard a peep about it, and loved it.
Every single one of us makes a difference, and the more voices we add, the harder it will be to continue ignoring the call for freedom.
i want to lock up the media, they are a big problem for us all
Praying for Israel.
