Another great piece, thank you! Renews my hope after a morning of doom & gloom.

Never forget that when Thalidomide was first marketed as a 'safe' drug to counter anxiety and morning sickness in pregnant mothers in the 1950s, it took two doctors (two!) who were initially ignored and vilified, to point out the causal effect of thousands of birth defects happening around the world. It took about seven years. That also means that thousands, if not millions of doctors either ignored or chose not to make the link between the drug and its effects. It seems we're at that point again. We have to be vigilant, persistent and support the truth-seekers - very grateful for all your work, Etana.

Dowd was saying how the talk of camps for the unvaxxed has 'evaporated', the threat of camps has lessened at least in my experience here in Portland OR....they're not tearing them down yet, though, so....

Maybe because they know that they hit the hardcore of us who won't under any circumstances let ourselves be pushed around by these psychopaths. I almost want them to try!

Thanks, thats the spirit, I hate feeling trapped. A lady friend of mine just bough a glock, and she has blond hair, so now I call her Goldiglocks. She never would have gone 'there' before, the gov really must like the gun manufacturers, to prompt so much new ownership. ;]

There's 7 camps in my smallish state. 7!

Expand full comment

How did you ascertain this?

Expand full comment

There's a map on line of all the camps in the United States. I don't remember what I searched to find it. Most, if not all, are accessible by road and rail. I think there may be some accessible by water. There's one in Alaska that will supposedly house 1M people. I'm a little skeptical, but it does look really large.

They pushed through the 3d shot for 5-11 year olds last month without an advisory meeting, just a handwave--and Tues-Wednesday will have their "advisors" weigh in on the Pfizer and Moderna shots for babaes from 6 months on up. Ugh. I will live blog both meetings for Children's Health Defense. If I survive, as the cupidity of the briefers and members at these FDA meetings destroys one's hope for mankind.

Substack is a great system for writing in detail about matters which would be censored elsewhere, and for discussing the articles in the comments system. Substack's CEO Chris Best strongly believes in the value of free speech: "Part of the reason why we have a society where we know there are things we can trust is because dissent is allowed, and because the discussion of unpopular things is not suppressed." https://nutritionmatters.substack.com/p/substack-supports-extraordinarily .

Here are some of the best Substacks regarding COVID-19 and the failed mainstream response to it, which centres on (so-called) vaccines, other expensive drugs (less effective and less safe than less profitable and better researched alternatives) masks and lockdowns: https://moderndiscontent.substack.com, https://nakedemperor.substack.com, https://pierrekory.substack.com, https://roundingtheearth.substack.com, https://stevekirsch.substack.com, https://rwmalonemd.substack.com, https://boriquagato.substack.com, https://www.eugyppius.com, https://amidwesterndoctor.substack.com, https://igorchudov.substack.com, https://rescue.substack.com, https://jessicar.substack.com, https://amidwesterndoctor.substack.com and https://alexberenson.substack.com.

However, like most medical professionals (some of the above authors are doctors) few of these people understand how poorly our immune systems work with the normal levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D - produced in the liver from vitamin D3 and measured in blood tests. Average levels, for those who do not properly supplement vitamin D3 and who have not had a lot of recent UV-B skin exposure, are 5 to 25 ng/mL, when the immune system needs 50 ng/mL (125 nmol/L) to function properly.

There's very little vitamin D3 in multivitamins or food, including vitamin D fortified food. Far from the equator, high levels of UV-B skin exposure is only naturally available in the middle of the day on cloud-free summer days (with no clothing or sunscreen coverage, and not through glass). This may have some other health benefits, but it is not a good long-term solution for providing vitamin D, even if UV-B was available all year round, since UV-B always damages DNA and so raises the risk of skin cancer.

Proper vitamin D supplementation for 70 kg 154 lb bodyweight is 0.125 to 0.175 mg 5000 to 7000 IU a day. This may sound like a lot, but 5000 IU is a gram very 22 years, and vitamin D3 costs USD$2.50 a gram ex-factory. If everyone did this, influenza and COVID-19 would rarely cause severe disease. Reduced severity of infection would reduce average levels of viral shedding and so greatly reduce transmission, generally below the level required for epidemic spread. So few people would be infected at any time of year.

The the main purpose of my Substack https://nutritionmatters.substack.com and website: https://vitamindstopscovid.info is raising awareness of the importance of vitamin D for immune system health.

Do you also discuss the use of other vitamins, minerals, or nutrients, outside of D3, in promoting health?

Expand full comment

I am concentrating on vitamin D3 because I and the researchers I collaborate with think it is the nutritional deficiency which causes the most harm and that it is relatively easy to fix (not counting the problem of educating doctors). Very small quantities are required - 5000 IU vitamin D3 a day is a gram every 22 years, and a gram costs USD$2.50 ex-factory.

Magnesium is probably the next most important deficiency in terms of harm. I think Henry Lahore's diagram https://vitamindwiki.com/Ways+to+improve+health has it about right. Next is omega 3 fatty acids, then boron, potassium, zinc and some others.

I plan to write more about these but I still have work to do on vitamin D, including making a lookup graph for vitamin D3 daily intake according to bodyweight. For some articles on magnesium: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Patrick-Chambers-4/research .

Appreciate this article. I've been thinking a lot about our collective power...apparently so have others. Here's a quote from Matthew Crawford from his essay "Specialization is Anti-Education": "Much of the point is that the complete set of answers is something like a reorganization of the maze in which the whole tribe participates. We need to allow for the powerful forces of emergent organization, and that involves the whole tribe, from the ground up."

I’m going to blog about this (our collective power) on my website. Will be quoting you and others. I’m a Nobody and I mean that in the best sense of that word, the Emily Dickinson sense: “I’m Nobody, who are you?…” My website gets maybe 25 people a day looking at it (sometimes more), not at all the reach that you and others like Kirsch and Malone are having, but I don’t care. It is the accumulated actions of nobodies that is going to save us. We need desperately heavy hitters like Naomi Wolf, Steve Bannon and others but as you know, if that’s all we have, we’re doomed. I take solace in the fact that for most of my life I was never involved politically and now I am. I think there must be millions of people out there just like me, millions of nobodies, getting involved in ways they never have before, because we’re angry, motivated and we’re acting. I just hope it’s in time. I often think of this George Eliot passage from Middlemarch: “…for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.” Thanks for what you’re doing, Etana, I truly appreciate it.

Just as with COVID there are also dozens of independent journalists, bloggers, videographers who are telling the truth about Ukraine, diametrically opposite of what you are hearing on the MSM. Some are covering both stories like Jimmy Dore. Independent voices are triumphing, it just takes a small amount of truth to poke through the mass fabric of lies. A commenter on another Substack had this great thought:

"Even when cut down and censored, truth is like a hydra, and finds multiple avenues to get out."

Better even than Dr. Malone's tag line "the truth is like a lion…"

My question is: if these charlatans are the pushers of these deadly shots, why weren’t they pushing it back in 2020. I get the whole anti-Trump angle, but shouldn’t they have gotten the memo that all hands should be on deck to promote the vaccines?
